I distinctly remember when Brightside Boutique opened it’s first store in Baltimore. I remember because my best friend and I headed there and were super excited to see the different shoes and tops that we’d only seen online in real life. We both blew through a decent amount of our dog walking paychecks on cute outfits and headed home with a new agenda – to go out somewhere and show off our new looks.
Now, years later, Brightside’s recently opened up it’s third store – and it’s right down the street from my house! And now, years later, their business has grown up and branched out. It’s my go to stop for add ons to my bullet journal, a consistent space for me to grab cute chokers or rompers and, I’m super happy to report, a new space for me to pick up shirts and shorts for my Greek husband. Yep, that’s right. Brightside’s got men’s clothing now, and I couldn’t be more into it.
I was really excited when Brightside contacted me to put together a look book of my favorite in-store picks - and I was even more pumped when they suggested that my Greek husband join me. Full disclosure: I'm pretty nervous in front of a camera, so having someone there who always makes me smile definitely helped. Also, we never took any sort of engagement or wedding portrait pictures - so I got a little teary when I saw these photos. We're both a bit more grown up than we were two years ago when we got married, and I'm super glad we were able to capture this point in our lives.
I had a ton of fun pulling looks for this shoot. If you read my blog this winter, you'll know I've been going through some body confidence issues - so I was a little worried about how I'd think I would look in outfits. All that anxiety was quickly pushed aside though - working with Skylar and Emma from Brightside was a breeze and they definitely made me feel like I was killing each look. We pulled a variety of rompers (since I can't get enough of them), some go-to denim and a totally bad ass bodysuit that totally captured my personal style vibe of "the test tube baby of Cher and Dolly Parton."
The Hampden Brightside definitely is my favorite of all their locations – it's chalk full of cute outfits for daytime and nighttime – but honestly, each store has it’s own vibe. These girls are smart – they understand that each neighborhood in Baltimore is unique and instead of trying to push the same items in each place, they take the time to get to know their customers and serve them.
I’m super excited to announce that I’ll be working as a brand rep for Brightside over the next few months. Honestly, that’s good news for my closet and yours! You can use the code OFFICE GOTH any time you shop at Brightside (online or in stores) for 15% off. As if you needed an excuse to add some goodies to your life. With that in mind, here are the links for everything I wore in this shoot:
